Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide North Carolina branch has held a strategic meeting towards finding solutions to the lingering security situation in some parts of the South East, Nigeria.
In a brief communique issued by the group at the end of the meeting, the group lamented what it called a deteriorating security situation in the south east and called on the security agencies to exercise some restraints as Igbo leaders are working hard to bring the situation under control.
“We are saddened by the development back home where some parts of Igbo land have witnessed alarming rate of insecurity resulting to death of Igbo youths and good number of security agents.
“We call on all parties to exercise restraints and give peace and leaders of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide a chance to drive the process of true reconciliation.
The meeting which was chaired by the President of the association in North Carolina, High Chief Sir Kelvin Ifeanyi Ogbonna had numerous members and stake holders of the group in attendance.
The group promised to keep interfacing with relevant stake holders both within and outside Nigeria to make sure that a lasting solution to insecurity in the south East and Nigeria at large is reached.
